The Great Fish Point Lighthouse celebrated 122 years of service on 1 July 2020. The day also marked World Marine Aids to Navigation Day.

IALA Transforming From An NGO To An IGO

A new convention, transforming IALA from an NGO to an IGO has been adopted at a diplomatic conference hosted by Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. Around 200 delegates from more than 50 countries participated.

MPA Singapore, IALA promote E-Navigation

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is co-organising a workshop with the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) to support the operationalisation of e-navigation solutions. This is the first workshop since Singapore’s election to the IALA Council in 2018.

E-navigation aims to make marine navigation safer and marine communications more reliable, as well as to reduce accidents and damage to the environment.
