New WinGD short-stroke engine completes successful shop test

Swiss-headquartered engine developer WinGD, a member of the CSSC Group, says that its new X-S short-stroke engine is set for its first installation following successful factory acceptance tests at CSSC Group’s Dalian Marine Diesel in March. The six-cylinder, 62-centimeter 6X62-S2.0 engine will be installed on a pulp carrier being built for a Chinese owner at COSCO Dalian shipyard.

The X-S series succeeds the well-established RT-flex50 and RT-flex58 engines and is available in 52-centimeter and...

WinGD introduces on-engine iCER

Winterthur, Switzerland, headquartered low-speed gas and diesel engine developer WinGD has introduced an on-engine version of its Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (iCER) emissions reduction system.

Designed to reduce methane slip emissions and cut fuel consumption on WinGD’s widely deployed X-DF dual-fuel engines, iCER is the first X-DF 2.0 technology introduced to further boost the emissions performance and efficiency of the X-DF two-stroke engine series. While X-DF engines running on...
