It has been two weeks since a Kerala-based Indian sailor, Arjun Raveendran, has gone missing in the waters off Tunisia. However, there’s no information on the case. His hometown is Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram.

The sailor’s family has approached the relevant authorities, including the Director General of Shipping. Yet, no responses have been shared until now. Three sailors from Kerala, including Arjun, have been missing since April.

KA Adith, a 22-year-old Merchant navy officer, was reported missing on 14 April when his ship had been navigating the sea off Pakistan. KV Sunilkumar, Adith’s father mentioned that the last voice record from his son to the family was received on 9 April when he boarded MT Alimas to Oman from the Maldives.

A 28-year-old man named Justin Kuruvila from Kottayam in Kerala has been missing while on a cargo vessel, sailing to New York from South Africa. He was appointed as an assistant cook on ‘Stream Atlantic’ and went missing on 7 February, and his whereabouts have remained unknown so far. The family of missing Indian Seafarer Pankaj Kumar has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention in the matter. Mr. Kumar has been missing from 6 September 2021. The family has previously tried getting in touch with the local MP but has not yet received a response.

A 27-year-old Indian seafarer is missing since December 3rd in the US waters. The family last talked to the missing crew member on December 2nd.

According to the company letter received by the family, the missing seafarer was last reported overboard whilst rigging the Pilot latter at 7:06 hrs local time.
