Imperial Logistics gets leaner as it sells S America shipping business

Imperial Logistics has taken another step in its bid to “get fitter”, by rationalising its sprawling businesses, with the sale of its South American shipping arm.
Brazilian inland waterways company Hidrovias do Brasil has bought the 90-vessel operation, which reportedly saw revenues of $36m for the year ending 30 June and ebitda of $9.4m.

More inland terminals join Dutch NWCC cargo co-operation initiative to beat delays

Dutch inland waterway container terminals are consolidating volumes to improve efficiency, with several joining the newly established North West Central Corridor (NWCC).

Maersk’s inland terminal network to be integrated into Logistics & Service

Maersk has announced that the Inland Services division of its terminal operating subsidiary, APM Terminals, will be integrated into Maersk Logistics & Service from August.
The transfer is part of the restructuring of Maersk’s container logistics operations.
The Inland Services portfolio is a network of of 36 inland terminals in more than 100 locations around the globe that also offer shippers and forwarders services such as container stuffing and unstuffing.

GPA unveils ambitious plans for huge expansion at the port of Savannah

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) has underscored its ambition to maintain growth at the port of Savannah with plans to accommodate increasing numbers of ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs).
An expansion programme unveiled on 5 February outlines ambitions for the port to be able to handle six 14,000 teu ships simultaneously by 2024.
