Taiwanese carriers refine Vietnam network

Taiwanese regional carriers Wan Hai, TS Lines and CNC Line will develop their Vietnam service offerings, as the Southeast Asian country continues to generate container cargoes.

TS Lines and CNC Line are adjusting their China-Vietnam-Cambodia (CVC) service, which they run jointly with Hong Kong-based Gold Star Line, to include a call at Bangkok, while excluding Nansha, Hong Kong and Danang.

Asian operators launch north China-western India service

A group of intra-Asia carriers is launching a joint service that links China, the Straits, Western India and Sri Lanka.

The weekly service will commence in mid-November and will be operated by Interasia Lines of Japan, Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines, Singapore-based Feedertech and South Korea’s Sinokor Merchant Marine (including its subsidiary Heung-A Line).

The service loop is Dalian, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Port Klang, Shekou and Dalian....

Interasia buys newbuilding resale pair

Japanese intra-Asia carrier Interasia Lines has purchased a pair of feeder ship newbuildings from a Chinese ship builder.

Purchased for US$34.5 million in August, the 1,730TEU vessels were originally ordered by German tonnage provider Reederei Nord at Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding in 2014. When Zhejiang Ouhua went bankrupt in 2018, Zhoushan Changhong Shipbuilding took over construction of the vessels and the defunct shipyard’s remaining assets.

Wan Hai and Interasia Lines launch new intra-Asia service

Wan Hai and Interasia Lines will launch a new joint service, which will connect Taiwan to Vietnam and Thailand, under the name TVT (Taiwan – Vietnam – Thailand).

Each carrier will deploy one 1,200TEU container vessel on the TVT service, which will run on 14 days round trip with the following port rotation:

Taipei – Taichung – Cat Lai, Ho Chi Minh – Bangkok – Laem Chabang – Taipei

The maiden voyage will commence from Taipei on 24 July 2020.
