JNPT sees signficant container handling growth

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), the largest container port in India, has attained 35.38% growth by handling 3,179,367 TEU from April until October of this fiscal year compared to 2,348,436 TEU in the same period of last fiscal year.

The port trust, comprising five terminals, also incurred a 12.56% growth in container handling in October compared to the same month in the previous year. This October, JNPT handled 476,316 TEU, increased by around 50,000 TEU from October 2020.

Uptick in India’s container industry post-Covid

The cargo handled by most of the government-owned major ports in India in the first half of the fiscal year is almost at par with the pre-Covid time. Major ports handled 347 million tons in April-September 2021 as compared to 348.2 million tons for the same period in 2019 with just a minimal decline of 0.17%.

JNPT achieves 40% container growth in first half of financial year

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), one of India’s premier container ports, has marked a significant increase in container throughput during the first half of the financial year (FY) 2021-22, which began in April 2021 and will end in March 2022.

JNPT reports significant boost in cargo handling

One of the major container ports in India, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has recorded a throughput of 441,984TEU in June 2021, which represents an important growth of 52.78% compared to the same period last year.

JNPT drives for growth amid Indian Covid-crisis

India’s major port in Mumbai, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has bucked the country’s container volume trend with a substantial increase in container throughput by both weight and TEU.

JNPT sees 20% fall in April import volumes

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s premier container port, registered a throughput of 283,802TEU in April, which translates to 80% of the imports handled in April 2019.

State-owned Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has achieved a new container throughput record of approximately 5.11 million TEUs in calendar year 2019, representing a 1.2% increase over the 5.05 million TEUs registered in 2018.
