St. Johns Ship Building wins spud barge order

Palatka, Fla.–based St. Johns Ship Building has secured a contract to build a 150 x 60 x 8 foot spud barge for Jacksonville, Fla.-headquartered Hal Jones Contractor, a division of Vecellio & Grogan,Inc.

St. Johns says that the contract expands the efficiencies realized from the continuity of similar barges already under construction at the shipyard.

St. Johns Ship Building to build two stop-log barges

Americraft Marine’s St. Johns Ship Building subsidiary in Palatka, Fla., reports that it has been awarded a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to construct two 140 x 32 x 7 foot stop-log barges. The contract is St. Johns Ship Building’s first new construction project for the U.S. Government and the yard says it marks “an exciting new chapter in the shipyard’s history.”

St. Johns Ship Building, Palatka, Fla., has delivered the Windea Enterprise, the second of the three Jones Act-compliant Incat Crowther 30 meters crew transport vessels (CTV) ordered at the shipyard by Windea CTV, LLC, a partnership of Hornblower Wind and MidOcean Wind.

St Johns Ship Building to build 6 new deck barges for Seapath

In a reminder that, as well as CTVs, it also builds a broad range of steel and aluminum vessels, St. Johns Ship Building reports that it has signed a contract with Seapath Group to construct a series of six 150-foot ABS deck barges.
