Eastern Shipbuilding wins contract to build new Fisher Island ferry

Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) reports that it has been awarded a contract to construct the newest Fisher Island ferry for the Fisher Island Community Association, Inc. (FICA) in Florida. Designed by Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG), the vessel will be constructed at ESG’s Allanton and Port St. Joe shipyards.

With a length of 152 feet and beam of 52 feet, the 1,200 bhp Fisher Island ferry will have a capacity for 30 cars and 150 passengers. It is expected to be delivered in 2026.

Eastern Shipbuilding tapped to complete HOS MPSV duo

Panama City, Fla., headquartered Eastern Shipbuilding Group reports that it has been contracted by Zurich American Insurance Company to complete the construction of two ultra high-spec 400 class Multi-Purpose Support Vessels (MPSVs) for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC (HOS).

Eastern Shipbuilding files GAO bid protest of Stage 2 OPC award

Panama City. Fla.-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc. (ESG) has filed a bid protest with the GAO contesting the U.S. Coast Guard’s decision to award Stage 2 of the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) program to Mobile, Ala.-based Austal USA.

Eastern Marine to begin construction of fourth OPC

The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) a $325.06 million contract modification to begin construction of the fourth Heritage Class offshore patrol cutter (OPC), the future USCGC Rush (WMSM 918).
