Jordanian Customs is to pilot the global trade digital platform, TradeLens, which is underpinned by blockchain technology, and which has been jointly developed by Maersk and IBM. Jordan to ink agriculture deal with Lebanon

The Syndicate of Farmers in Lebanon’s Bekaa announced on Monday that the Jordanian agriculture minister will visit Lebanon in October to sign an agricultural agreement, local media reported.

The agreement aimed at facilitating the export of Lebanese agricultural products to Jordan, said Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.

“Jordan will give priority to Lebanon when it comes to buying any of its agricultural needs,” the syndicate announced in a statement, according to Elnashra.

Marinette Marine, Vigor deliver RB-Ms to Jordan navy

Fincantieri Marinette Marine and Vigor (Team RB-M) announced the deliveries of two additional 45’x14.7′ Response Boat-Mediums (RB-Ms) to the U.S. Coast Guard. These boats are part of an approved foreign military sale to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan through the Department of Homeland Security.

Marinette Marine was the prime contractor and program manager for the project, and Vigor built the vessels at its Seattle facility.

Aqaba terminal highlights sustainability success

Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT)’s eighth annual sustainability report shows that in 2018 the company managed to reduce its energy intensity by 5.5%, improve water intensity by 1%, reduce waste levels by 13% and decrease total Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 10%. Railway network to be formed in Jordan

The Saudi Jordanian Investment Fund (SJIF) and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a railway in Jordan.

The railway will connect Aqaba’s seaports to a dry port that will be constructed in Ma’an governorate, forming the first phase of Jordan’s national railway network, according to a joint statement obtained by Xinhua on Sunday, Feb. 10.
