Kenan Advantage Group acquiring MC Tank Transport

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) is acquiring liquid bulk hauler MC Tank Transport (MCT), according to an internal MCT memo to drivers on Tuesday. The latest acquisition for KAG will also provide it with a platform to provide International Organization for Standardization (ISO) tank services.

Kenan Advantage Group acquires Texas-based XBL

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) announced Monday it has acquired dry bulk transporter XBL Industrial Materials and its logistics unit from private equity firm Lilium Group.

Weatherford, Texas-based XBL operates a fleet of 186 tractors (162 drivers) and 356 trailers, hauling bulk industrial commodities like sand, salt and lime as well as a variety of construction materials throughout the Eastern half of the U.S. It has a 53-person operations staff that manages its 10 storage silos and 11 terminals.

Specialized transportation provider Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) announced Friday that it has acquired dry bulk hauler PRM Trucking.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) announced Tuesday it has acquired bulk tank hauler TransVac.

Abbeville, Louisiana-based TransVac primarily provides tank transportation of chemicals, plastics, petroleum products and water treatment products. Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) said Monday it has acquired Northern Dry Bulk for an undisclosed amount.

Clare, Michigan-based Northern Dry Bulk primarily hauls and stores plastic resins used in the automotive, packaging and electronics industries. The carrier serves the U.S. and Canada out of two terminals with a fleet of 36 tractors and 91 trailers.

Sale of Kenan Advantage reportedly eyed by pension fund

The private equity arm of the Canadian pension fund OMERS is considering selling Kenan Advantage Group in a deal that could bring in $2.5 billion or more for the tank truck carrier, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing anonymous sources. 

OMERS Private Equity, which acquired Kenan in 2015, declined to comment on the report. But Kenan could attract significant interest from private equity firms and large transportation and logistics companies.
