Kamarajar port appoints new chairman

Sunil Paliwal, a 1993 batch Tamil Nadu Cadre IAS Officer, took charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Kamarajar Port Ltd.

Before this, Sunil Paliwal was Tamil Nadu Labour and Employment Secretary. Starting his career as Sub Collector of Cuddalore district, he had also served as Additional Collector in Nagapattinam district and Collector of Tirunelveli, Theni and Kanniyakumari districts.

India, 11 March 2019– GAC has handled the first tanker to berth at the newly constructed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal inside Kamarajar Port, Ennore in Chennai, India. Kamarajar Port was originally designed as a satellite port to Chennai Port Trust to handle dusty cargo such as coal and iron ore and free Chennai, just 20 kms away, from such cargoes polluting the city.
