Port Houston orders 26 hybrid Konecranes RTGs

Port Houston has ordered 14 hybrid Konecranes rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) for its Barbours Cut Container Terminal and 12 hybrid Konecranes RTGs for its Bayport Container Terminal.

The order, which is expected to support the port’s expansion, was booked in the third quarter of 2022, while the crane deliveries will start in the second half of 2023 and continue to mid-2024.

Chinese container terminal operator COSCO SHIPPING Ports (Spain) Terminals (CSP) has ordered 11 eco-efficient hybrid Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGs), with six machines for their terminal in Bilbao and five for their terminal in Valencia.

North Italian terminal orders new equipment

Italian terminal Terminal Del Golfo (TDG) operated by Tarros Group has ordered an eco-efficient Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane for their operation in La Spezia.

The crane will be equipped with an external power supply that lowers operating costs while reducing noise and exhaust emissions. The order was booked in July 2022 and the crane will be delivered in the first quarter of 2023.

Strong order intake continues for Konecranes in a challenging environment

Konecranes has announced its financial results for the first half of 2022 and the second quarter.

During the second quarter, order intake reached US$1.02 billion, an increase of 24.9%.

The order book reached US$2.87 billion at the end of June, an increase of 43.1%.

Sales amounted to US$798.62 million, with an increase of 3.7%.

It should be noted that sales increased in Service and Industrial Equipment but decreased in Port Solutions.

Konecranes successfully places €300 million ESG-linked Schuldschein loan

Konecranes has successfully issued a Schuldschein loan, raising a total of €300 million.

The sustainability-linked loan has floating and fixed rate tranches with maturities until 2026, 2027 and 2030. Moelven Edanesågen AB, a sawmill in Sweden, in an effort to reduce emissions, has ordered its first fully electric Konecranes E-VER overhead crane.

The order was placed in December 2021 and the machine was delivered in May 2022.

Italian port enhances its crane fleet

FHP Group has placed an order for an eco-efficient Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane for their Multi Service Terminal in the Marghera Port near Venice, Italy.
