DHL Global Forwarding launches new online booking platform

DHL Global Forwarding has launched a new online quote and booking platform for air and ocean shipments.
The decision follows other operators already offering online booking, while Australia’s Toll Group last month outsourced its online needs to Kontainers in a three-year deal.
However, DHL GF has opted to develop its own service, DHLi Quote & Book, which chief executive Tim Schwarth claimed would be the market’s “most user-friendly” system.

Toll and Kontainers ink three-year deal

Toll Group(Toll), the Asia Pacific region’s leading provider of transport and logistics, and part of Japan Post, has signed a three-year software contract with Kontainers, the UK-based Enterprise software company, to power its global digital client-facing platforms.

The new agreement will see Toll introduce Kontainers’ flagship product, Enterprise, to its Global Forwarding operations from Q4 2019.

Toll Group opts for Kontainers as forwarder plans online booking service

Toll Group will soon be offering its customers an online booking platform, following the forwarder’s three-year, $1.15m contract with Kontainers. 
The software company’s flagship product, Enterprise, will be available to Toll Global Forwarding customers from Q4 and will allow them to get quotes, book and manage shipments and receive real-time analytics. 
And another major deal with Kontainers is expected as soon as this quarter, linked to the new portal of Zim Integrated Shipping.

Kontainers offers smaller forwarders the chance to compete online

UK digital ocean freight start-up Kontainers plans to make further inroads into the freight forwarding community this year with a new product designed to appeal to small-to-medium freight forwarders (SMEs).

Jesper Thomsen and John Gilleran now key advisers to Kontainers
