China and Kuwait to construct new port

Kuwait and China have signed a memorandum-of-understanding (MoU) to begin Phase 1 construction of the Silk City megaproject, an initiative that includes the development of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port. The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port will be built by the Chinese Construction and Communications Company and it will be operated through either a long-term leasing or public-private partnerships.

Grandweld delivers first KOC crew boat

Dubai’s Grandweld Shipyard recently celebrated the launch of the first crew boat for the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), as part of a contract for a total of ten vessels signed last March.
