Lineage Logistics opens expanded cold storage facility in Denmark

Lineage Logistics, LLC opened its expanded cold storage facility in the Port of Aarhus in Denmark on 15 March 2023.

The extension adds 18,000 pallet spots, bringing the total to 27,500 pallet capacity.

Customers, including fish and shellfish producers, will benefit from simplified storage for their goods at a crucial site connecting seafood import and export, connecting Greenland and Denmark to the global market.

Current customers who use Lineage for cold storage are estimated to spend more than $500 million a year on cargo insurance. The partnership with Parsyl aims to cut those costs significantly by creating tailored insurance coverage based on customers’ specific needs.

Truckers, logistics firms owed millions after meat importer’s bankruptcy

Several trucking companies, logistics firms and cold storage providers are collectively owed millions of dollars after an Iowa-based frozen meat importer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection recently.

South American Beef Inc., headquartered in West Des Moines, filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa last week.

Lineage Logistics grows distribution footprint in Europe

Cold storage real estate investment trust (REIT) Lineage Logistics announced Thursday further expansion of its temperature-controlled supply chain in Europe. The company completed the acquisition of Grupo Fuentes.

Financial terms of the transaction were not provided.
