China’s LNG Import Surge Despite High Prices

China imported 6.61 million mt of LNG in November, up 31.6% month on month and 1.6% higher year on year on rising domestic demand despite higher prices, according to data released Dec. 26 by the country’s General Administration of Customs, reports S&P Global Platts.

Lower temperatures stimulated higher consumption from household users and demand from industrial users rose due to more orders in the Christmas season, market sources said.

Australian State Speeds Up Second LNG Import Terminal Review

The New South Wales government of Australia has announced that it would set the review of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal located at Newcastle port, on a fast track status, reports Reuters.

Scheduled Cargoes Total More Than 7.3 TWh of LNG

Spain will receive six cargoes totalling more than 7.3 TWh (0.65bcm) of LNG this week, while imports of the liquid fuel in September are set to treble year on year, reports Montel News.

The data on the fuel imports was compiled from TSO Enagas.

Cargoes at Barcelona and Reganosa 

This week’s total compares to 5.6 TWh delivered last week from six cargoes, which docked at the Barcelona, Cartagena, Huelva, Bilbao and Reganosa terminals.
