A Tuesday filing with a federal bankruptcy court in Delaware showed Knight-Swift Transportation, A. Duie Pyle and TForce Properties have entered purchase agreements totaling $15.1 million to acquire seven of defunct Yellow Corp.’s terminals.

Phoenix-based Knight-Swift (NYSE: KNX) is acquiring three terminals in Southern California – Downey (71 doors), San Diego (49 doors) and Santa Maria (16 doors) – and one property in Roanoke, Virginia, (34 doors) for $9.9 million.

Saia opens 2 new terminals, eyes 18 to 21 sites in ’24

Less-than-truckload carrier Saia has announced the opening of two new service centers. The company said the additions are part of a plan to add 18 to 21 terminals this year. Saia previously expected to add just 16 locations in 2024.

Located in Stockton, California, and Davenport, Iowa, the new facilities are part of a strategic initiative “to enhance service capabilities and support our expanding customer base,” a Monday news release said.

Pitt Ohio adds 4 terminals, begins direct service in New York

Less-than-truckload carrier Pitt Ohio said Monday it has begun direct service in New York. The offering is part of a deal recently struck with partner carrier Teal’s Express.

Pitt Ohio recently acquired assets from Teal’s, which had been providing it with service in the state since 2016. Old Dominion adding space to meet ‘heightened’ demand

Old Dominion Freight Line announced Tuesday it has added or expanded terminals at seven different locations over the last two quarters. The capacity enhancements include additional doors and staff as well as technology upgrades to support “anticipated future growth and heightened customer demand.”
