Chouest and Maersk Supply partner up on U.S. offshore wind installation

Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) and Maersk Supply Service are partnering up for the construction and operation of a Jones Act compliant offshore wind installation feeder concept.

Specifically designed for Maersk Supply Service’s next-generation Wind Installation Vessel, the purpose-built feeder spread includes two tugs and two barges to be delivered in 2026. They will be owned and operated by ECO and constructed by Bollinger Shipyards.

COLUMN | Where the wind blows part 1: Borealis, IT Telecoms, TotalEnergies, Ørsted and Vestas [Offshore Accounts]

One of the warmest winters on record seems to be drawing to a close in Europe, and the North Sea spot market is roaring back. On Friday, the 251 tonnes bollard pull anchor handler Maersk Mariner was spot chartered by Anasuria Operating Company at the princely day rate of £45,000 (US$57,000) for...

“Our wind industry, for instance, is a European success story,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently said. “But it is currently facing a unique mix of challenges.” We’re no fan of Ms von der Leyen, a nepo-baby whose incompetence as German Defence Minister was rewarded not with the sacking she so richly deserved, […]

Maersk Supply uses Inmarsat API to optimize performance of battery-fitted AHTS

An Inmarsat Maritime solution will help Maersk Supply Service optimize the performance of its first vessel fitted with a battery installation, the AHTS Maersk Minder, and to evaluate how best to optimize the use of zero-emission energy storage systems across its fleet.

Inmarsat Maritime’s Fleet Data IoT platform will enable Maersk Supply to use the Fleet Data end-user API to seamlessly gather data from onboard equipment, automatically organize it with time-stamps, synchronizes it, and upload it...

Maersk Supply Service chooses Inmarsat fleet data API to improve battery-optimised vessel performance

Maersk Supply Service has chosen Inmarsat Maritime’s Fleet Data Internet of Things (IoT) platform to help optimize the performance of its first vessel battery installation onboard the Maersk Minder Offshore Supply Ship, in a solution that will also allow the vessel owner to evaluate how best to optimize the use of zero-emission energy storage systems across its fleet.

An end-user API collects data from onboard equipment, organizes it with time stamps, synchronizes it, and uploads it to the...

COLUMN | Quick Updates: Atlantica buys DOF’s supply vessel flip; Maersk sells anchor handlers; battery power drive gains momentum in UK and Norway; Ocean Infinity wins grant; more cable layers ordered [Offshore Accounts]

Last week we looked at Britoil’s acquisition of 30 offshore supply vessels (OSVs) from Vroon for a price we estimated to be in the region of US$239 million, and the acquisition of the Vroon Offshore Services management teams in Singapore and Italy. We noted how the Dutch Bank ING had foolishly cut a side deal […]
