Pilbara Ports Authority has issued new safety rules on pilot ladders, man-ropes and associated equipment to boost safety at the port. Vessels that do not meet these safety rules will not be permitted to berth.

Seafarers’ training and certification requirements subject to the IGF Code

MPA Singapore issued a circular concerning training and certification requirements for seafarers on ships, subject to the International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-Flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code). The circular applies to shipowners, ship managers, masters, chief engineer officers, marine engineer officers, deck officers and ratings of Singapore registered ships subject to the IGF code.

Operations conducted at Vopak terminal, seafarers alert

MPA Singapore issued a marine circular concerning works taking place at Vopak Terminal. The circular is applicable to all mariners operating in the vicinity of Jong Fairway and will take effect from June 10 to September 16, 2019.

The Authority informs that the works will be conducted 24 hours daily, even in Sundays and Public Holidays.

MPA Singapore issues marine notice dredging ops in Damar Laut Basin

The Marine and Port Authority of Singapore published a marine notice concerning dredging works off Jurong Terminal. The notice is applicable to mariners operating in Damar Laut Basin and will be in effect from 13 May 2019 to August 30 2019.

Specifically, the Authority notes that the dredging operations will be conducting by dredgers, help in position by anchors.
