Netherlands deploys troops to help in MSC Zoe clean up operation

The Dutch Government decided to deploy troops in order to help in the clean up operation for the over 200 containers that fell from the MSC Zoe containership on January 2.

Relevant authorities are warning people not to touch the containers, as some of them contain dangerous chemical substances.

Suez Canal reports second highest traffic

Traffic on the Suez Canal reached the second highest daily traffic ever recorded on January 2, Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish informed. Specifically, 72 vessels with an overall tonnage of 5.1 million tons sailed through the canal.

MSC starts clean up operation after containers fall from container ship

Pirates kindnap crew from MSC containership

Pirates attacked the container ship MSC Mandy, on January 2, off Benin, West Africa, kidnapping six crewmembers. The vessel was sailing through the Gulf of Guinea when the attack took place.

MSC announces new bunker charge mechanism for 2019

Top container shipping companies consider new association to drive digitalization

The container ship ‘MSC Arushi R.’ experienced troubles on October 17, while it was sailing on the West Scheldt, near Hansweert, in Netherlands. The troubles were probably caused by mechanical failure.

Hapag Lloyd to implement Marine Fuel Recovery mechanism

Ahead of the 2020 sulphur cap, Hapag Lloyd said that using low-sulphur fuel oil will be the key solution for the company to remain compliant.
