The increasing number of full queries made into the federal Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse is evidence that the database is taking drug abusers off the road as intended, according to a trucking regulatory expert.

Texas border agents seize $12M in drugs from tractor-trailers

In two recent incidents, border agents in South Texas uncovered attempts to use commercial trucks to move methamphetamine and marijuana across the United States-Mexico border.

The first occurred Friday at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers were inspecting a tractor-trailer hauling a commercial shipment of fresh broccoli from Mexico. CBP seizes $60M in Texas meth busts

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently seized more than 3,038 pounds of methamphetamine in two separate, unrelated cases in South Texas.

Both cases involved tractor-trailers attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border at the Laredo port of entry.

Border officers seize $29M in meth in shipments from Mexico

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers recently seized methamphetamine worth more than $29 million in separate incidents at the World Trade Bridge, authorities said.

The first case occurred Aug. 14 when a tractor-trailer from Mexico carrying an industrial mixing machine arrived at the bridge’s cargo facility. CBP found 1,211 pounds of meth in the shipment, worth an estimated $24.2 million.

Marijuana, cocaine top drug clearinghouse violations

Marijuana is by far the drug of choice among drivers testing positive for controlled substances, according to data compiled by the federal Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
