Mexican Navy opts for Thordon solution to cut waterjet cavitation damage

The Mexican Navy has awarded Thordon Bearings a second major contract for the supply of its water-lubricated SXL wear rings for retrofit installation to the waterjet propulsion nozzles on 25 interceptor patrol vessels. The contract follows the success of extensive trials in which the SXL material replaced the use of other anti-corrosive coatings in waterjet impeller housings, resulting in increased resistance to cavitation induced corrosion.

Container ship delayed over suspected cocaine smuggling at Port of Ensenada

The Mexican Navy seized 3.1 kg of cocaine, reportedly thrown from the container ship ‘MOL Majesty’ to a boat with three people onboard, at the Port Ensenada. In a statement, the Second Naval Region announced that it confiscated the three packages on 25 February.
