Ford, Argo AI to run self-driving cars in Lyft network

Lyft will begin running autonomous vehicles within its rideshare network before the end of 2021 through a partnership with Ford and Argo AI.

The three companies announced an agreement Wednesday morning that will place self-driving ride-hailing vehicles on Miami city streets later this year and on Austin, Texas, roadways in 2022.

Fireboats used to aerate section of Biscayne Bay

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department’s two fireboats were recently called on for an unusual job — help save the sea life in Biscayne Bay.

Fireboats 21 and 73 spent four hours and covered about two square miles aerating a portion of the bay with thousands of dead and dying creatures ranging from pufferfish and eels to lobster and grunts.

Hurricane Isaias is barreling through the Bahamas this morning, August 1, and will come close to landfall on Florida’s east coast tomorrow.

The U.S. Coast Guard has issued a condition ZULU at the Port of Miami and the northern port of Key West. This means no vessels may enter or move within these ports without permission from the captain of the port (COTP). Also, all ship-to-shore operations must stop until further notice.
