ICTSI’s Mindanao Container Terminal enhances port equipment

Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT), International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) business unit in Misamis Oriental in the Philippines, has acquired a mobile harbor crane (MHC) to further enhance capacity and boost productivity.

According to MCT, the new machine will augment the terminal’s existing quay cranes to enhance overall vessel handling capability by enabling simultaneous handling of two longer ships. The MHC will be operational by December.

New hybrid yard equipment at the Mindanao Container Terminal

Two Mitsui hybrid rubber-tired gantries (RTG), the first in Mindanao, Philippines were received by Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT), owned by International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI).

“The hybrid RTGs make our operations more efficient and at the same time more environment friendly because of the reduced emissions, allowing us to hit both our productivity and sustainability targets,” commented Aurelio Garcia, MCT general manager.
