Yusuke Suemune of Japan’s Ports and Harbours Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) today outlined in detail his Government’s plans to achieve carbon net zero by 2050 at all Japanese ports via its Carbon Neutral Ports (CNP) initiative backed by a CNP certification process.

Seoul steps in to sort parcel deliveries as CJ Logistics’ strike goes on

South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is taking urgent action to deliver over 200,000 stranded parcels resulting from a prolonged strike by subcontracted couriers of the country’s largest logistics company, CJ Logistics.
Around 1,700 workers hired by the sub-contractors have refused to work since 28 December, claiming their wage rise is disproportionate to what the company is charging customers.

Self-employed South Korean truckers begin three-day strike

Twenty-three thousand unionised self-employed South Korean truck drivers began a three-day strike today to demand better working conditions.
The truckers, whose 22,000 vehicles represent about 5% of the country’s freight vehicles, are members of Cargo Truckers Solidarity (CTS), under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions’ umbrella.
