Mobile Engineer District update on Mobile Harbor project

Since 2020, the Mobile Engineer District Mobile Harbor Project, and its partners have sought to deepen and widen the Mobile Harbor Channel by five feet from the Gulf of Mexico through Mobile Bay and into Mobile Harbor. The entrance channel through the Gulf is being deepened from 45 feet to 50 feet.

GLDD books contracts worth $88.1 million

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (NASDAQ: GLDD), America’s largest provider of dredging services is to carry out a contract on Oak Island. No, not the Oak Island in Nova Scotia known to History Channel fans as the place where the Knights Templar might have hidden the Lost Ark., but Oak Island, N.C.

The Oak Island, N.C., contract is one of several major dredging awards, totaling $88.1 million, reported by GLDD yesterday.

Weeks wins $24 million Mobile Harbor dredging award

Weeks Marine Inc., Covington, La., has been awarded a $24,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract to furnish all the equipment, materials, supplies, and manpower necessary to perform dredging of the Mobile Harbor Navigation Project. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of May 2, 2022.
