MPCC, Unifeeder partner on dual-fuel methanol boxship construction

MPC Container Ships (MPCC) has entered into joint retrofit agreements with various charter customers. Under these agreements, both the charterer and MPCC will share the costs of retrofit investments followed by an extension of the vessels’ time-charter contracts.

Watson Farley Williams (WFW) has advised Norway-based shipping company MPC Container Ships (MPCC) on strategic vessel acquisitions and sales worth around US$200 million.

MPC Container Ships sells one, buys two boxships

The Norwegian vessel owner MPC Container Ships (MPCC) and its joint venture partner have agreed to sell the 2,800 TEU container ship AS Carinthia, built in 2003, ahead of the vessel’s 20-year class renewal scheduled for the first quarter of 2023, for US$7.6 million.

MPC Container Ships orders two carbon-neutral 1,300 TEU vessels for US$78 million

MPC Container Ships (MPCC) has contracted two carbon-neutral 1,300 TEU newbuildings at Chinese-based shipyard Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering.

The delivery of the vessels is expected in the second half of 2024. The two boxships will be equipped with a dual fuel engine setup that enables operation on methanol as well as conventional MGO.

Norwegian box carrier to acquire Songa Container

The Norwegian shipping company, MPC Container Ships (MPCC) has entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire Songa Container for an aggregate purchase price of US$210.25 million on a debt and cash free basis.
