MyCarrier, Loadsure partner to reduce LTL claims process from weeks to hours

Since launching in 2017, less-than-truckload booking platform MyCarrier has focused on automating the inefficiencies of the industry to benefit both its elite carriers and shippers.

On Tuesday, the company announced its next operational win — dynamic, on-demand insurance in partnership with insurtech provider Loadsure.

“We wanted to find a best-in-class provider that can supply that service and risk mitigation for our shippers. Even for our small to mid-market shipper, a single loss can be...

Central Freight Lines’ cautionary tale

The shutdown earlier this month of regional LTL carrier Central Freight Lines Inc. (CFL) is a reminder that even in the midst of perhaps the strongest financial and operating cycle in the industry’s history, the complex model can still humble the best of carriers and ruin the worst.

The loss of Waco, Texas-based CFL is unlikely to tighten LTL capacity any more than it currently is. CFL controlled just 0.6% share of the $42 billion-dollar-a-year industry, according to ShipMatrix, a consultancy....

MyCarrier integrates shippers to LTL operations, sees shipments up 246%

For small to medium-size shippers, finding competitive less-than-truckload pricing tends to be more difficult than it is for their larger counterparts.

Without dedicated volume, it can be impossible to establish direct tariffs, or rate bases, directly with LTL providers. Unable to reach out directly, these shippers reach out to multiple freight brokers and resellers in hopes of obtaining best pricing through bidding wars, executed with very little technology integration, on-time performance or...
