Coast Guard application processing delays

In early January, the National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) announced that it was experiencing delays in the time needed to issue Certificates of Documentation (CODs), Abstracts of Title (A/Ts), COD Renewals and other documentation. The Coast Guard said the delays were due to performance issues associated with its information technology (IT) System.

The National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) is experiencing delays in issuing Certificates of Documentation (COD) due to issues associated with its information technology (IT) system. The Coast Guard recognizes the need to minimize the effect on the maritime community.

Coast Guard not able to process commercial vessel documentation

Due to the lapse in federal funding, the Coast Guard’s National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) is not able to process commercial vessel documentation.

On its website, the NVDC says:

NOTICE: DUE TO THE LAPSE IN FEDERAL FUNDING, INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE MAY NOT BE UP TO DATE. TRANSACTIONS SUBMITTED VIA THIS WEBSITE MIGHT NOT BE PROCESSED AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE A RESPONSE TO INQUIRIES UNTIL AFTER APPROPRIATIONS ARE ENACTED.
