Jokr, the 15-minute grocery delivery firm that launched in June in three New York City boroughs, is expanding to three additional locations.

The company on Tuesday announced it will begin servicing the Upper West Side, the Upper East Side, and the financial district. Jokr previously served only Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens residents. The firm is adding new hub locations in the added boroughs, expanding its total addressable market opportunity by 80% in the region.

Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub are suing New York City over its commission caps for food delivery apps

DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats provider Uber Technologies are suing New York City over its recent measure that capped the commission that the apps could charge restaurants at 15%, a figure that was previously as high as 30%. It’s the latest legal action in a yearslong clash between America’s three largest food delivery companies and state and local legislators.

Ida death toll rises in Northeast

The Northeast faced a rising death toll, rising rivers and tornado damage Thursday after the remnants of Hurricane Ida slammed the region with record-breaking rain. More than 40 people drowned in their homes and cars.

Various officials have blamed the storm for at least 46 deaths Wednesday night and Thursday morning from Maryland to Connecticut.

Staten Island Ferry construction christens Florida’s newest shipyard

It’s not every day that you see Staten Island ferries in Southern waters, but their presence has been a welcome sight for one northwest Florida community.
