Beth Ann Branch named new Port NOLA president and CEO

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) has appointed Beth Ann Branch president & CEO of Port NOLA and CEO of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB), effective Dec. 1, 2024.

Port NOLA CEO Brandy Christian stepping down

Brandy D. Christian is stepping down as president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans (and as CEO of its New Orleans Public Belt Railroad unit) in mid June to pursue an opportunity in the private sector. Port of New Orleans railroad upgrades locomotives

The Port of New Orleans has completed the acquisition of eight new locomotives for operating within the port complex.

With the arrival of the eight new engines, the port authority’s short-line New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) will reduce its locomotive fleet from 15 to eight. The new locomotives are also expected to reduce fuel consumption by 25% and emissions by 40%.
