Social distancing and restricted measures have been implemented to the whole shipping industry, aiming to minimize the virus’ spread and to fully protect the seafarers and those employed. Thus, North P&I Club launched an information sheet on how to deal with ship visitors and keep the social distances.

Cargo care checklist: Nickel Ore, Grain, Coal

Coronavirus outbreak in China

In fact, a new strain of coronavirus, which causes a type of pneumonia, was first detected in December 2019 in the central city of Wuhan.

The North P&I Club informs that the Chinese authorities have reported there are almost 300 cases, including four deaths.

North focuses on the gender pay gap issue

The North P&I Club recently published a report focusing on the gender pay gap issue. Specifically, the report reminds how important is to have the right processes, values, behaviours and a supportive infrastructure in place for everyone that want to success.

With shipping industries being traditionally male dominated and many of the high paid work positions occupied by males, gender pay gap shows the differences in the average pay between men and women, as the causes of which can vary enormously.
