BrightDrop delivers first electric vans to FedEx Express

BrightDrop has delivered the first five EV600 electric delivery vans to FedEx Express as the first step in an order that could result in 500 vans operating within the FedEx fleet.

The initial vehicles will be put into operation in a FedEx Express (NYSE: FDX) facility in Inglewood, California. FedEx is building electric vehicle charging infrastructure across its network, including 500 stations that have already been installed in California.

GM to bring electric cargo van, medium-duty truck to market

General Motors plans to add two new electric vehicles (EVs) to its commercial vehicle lineup as it continues to expand its electric platform to meet its goal of launching 30 EVs globally by 2025.

The new vehicles — an electric Chevrolet cargo van similar in size to the current Chevrolet Express van and a larger medium-duty vehicle — will leverage the company’s BrightDrop EV business and take advantage of the company’s $35 billion capital and engineering investment efforts.

Uber teams with Arrival on EVs and Gopuff for everyday essential items

Arrival to build electric car for Uber

Arrival, the U.K.-based electric bus and van manufacturer, has announced a deal with global ridesharing giant Uber to develop an electric car for ride hailing in the U.K. and Europe.

Uber has a similar deal with General Motors (NYSE: GM) in the U.S., first announced in September 2020. The new deal with Arrival for a purpose-built electric vehicle for ride-hailing calls for the car to enter production Q3 2023.
