VIDEO: ONE vessel bumps Maersk boxship in Hong Kong

A Saturday night harbor incident saw an unplanned meeting between rival container ships.

The 14,026-TEU ONE Columba allided with the 9,640-TEU Clifford Maersk on Saturday night in Hong Kong.

Video posted to social media showed several containers falling from the Maersk vessel into the water.

ONE, LX Pantos in Boxlinks venture for US domestic intermodal

Liner operator Ocean Network Express (ONE) and South Korean forwarder LX Pantos announced a joint venture, Boxlinks, a new player offering end-to-end U.S. domestic intermodal transportation services. 

The joint venture will manage ONE’s inland-to-coastal domestic transport needs through a Domestic Reposition Program (DRP). 

“By leveraging empty containers for intermodal operations, Boxlinks aims to create new revenue streams while improving operational efficiency,” LX Pantos said in a release....

ONE container alliance swings to profit in Q3

The unsettled state of ocean shipping continued to be a moneymaker for liner operators in late 2024.

Three-carrier alliance Ocean Network Express (ONE) said net profit in the 2024 October-to-December fiscal third quarter was $1.16 billion, up from a loss of $83 million in the year-ago quarter, on revenue higher at $4.85 billion from $3.36 billion.

Jaxport adding more global container services in 2025

A host of ocean container lines are adding the Port of Jacksonville, Florida, to their services in 2025.

The new calls come as Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) dissolve their 2M Alliance vessel-sharing agreement as of January.

Jaxport said in a release that three primary changes are taking place beginning in February 2025.

FMC ruling stalls launch of box ship Premier Alliance
