Watch: Fire at Petronas results to one slight injury

An explosion at a Malaysian oil refinery that belongs to state oil firm Petronas, took place on Friday, 12 April. The company was testing its facilities ahead of planned commercial operations later this year.

US and the Netherlands sign offshore wind agreement

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on offshore wind development. Dutch Consul General Dolph Hogewoning and BOEM Acting Director Walter Cruikshank signed the agreement on 8 April at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in New York.

Aasta Hansteen field is shut due to investigations of gas leak

The production of Equinor’s Aasta Hasteen gas field continues being out of operation as the Norwegian authorities and Equinor investigate the cause of a gas leak, which occurred on the field the previous week. No personal injuries have been reported as a consequence of the incident. According to Equinor, the operator company, personnel were in the immediate vicinity when the leak occurred.

Rhode Island funds ‘Ready 4 Offshore Wind’ project

Lebanon ‘greenlights’ 2nd offshore licensing round

Lebanon’s Council of Ministers gave the green light on the launch of the Second Offshore Licensing Round (SOLR) on April 4.
