Ten crew members have been kidnapped from general cargo ship off Gulf of Guinea, reports Maritime Bulletin.

Cargo ship was attacked at around 1300 UTC Nov 26 in Nigerian waters, Gulf of Guinea, some 10 nm off Bayelsa State coast. The attacked general cargo ship, MILAN, was en route from Koko Nigeria to Douala Cameroon.

The ship stopped and started to drift at night Nov 25, reason unknown. She drifted to a position where she was attacked and understood, boarded.

Pirates attack container ship off Bonny Island

The Liberian-flagged container ship MV Lana became subject of a piracy attack while underway south of Bonny Island, Nigeria, in the Gulf of Guinea, according to data provided by Dryad Global. This is the first incident to occur within this specific area in 2020.

A Greek-flagged bulk carrier was attacked on March 25, off the Abgami Terminal. In addition, the same day another vessel reported being approached off Agbami as well, while a day later another ship reported the same.

Pirates kidnap seven crew from container vessel in Gulf of Guinea

Dryad Global Maritime Security reported a piracy incident in the Gulf of Guinea, where seven crew members have been kidnapped.

Specifically, the 2015-built, 957-teu MSC Talia F, that was carrying 17 seafarers, is believed to have been en-route from Lome, Togo to Port Libreville, Gabon at the time of the pirates’ boarding.

Armed pirates board cargo ship off Nigeria

Six armed pirates boarded the Hong Kong-flagged general cargo ship ‘Huanghai Glory’, while off Nigeria, in the evening hours of 6 March, according to ReCAAP ISC.

While ‘Huanghai Glory’ was underway 85 nm south of Port Lagos, Nigeria, six perpetrators armed with automatic weapons boarded the ship.

The crew activated the SSAS and hid in the safety cabin.

Pirates attack Greek tanker off Benin, one crew missing
