Trucking companies added to FMCSA safety committee

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has added nine members to its current 16-member Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC), including two motor carriers and four women.

FreightTech 25: No. 4 Platform Science grows collaborations

Growth stage fleet management software maker Platform Science entered several collaborations in 2020. It moved up six places to No. 4 on the FreightWaves FreightTech 25.

The biggest deal was with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA). Beginning in 2021, its customers can use third-party telematics and connectivity services directly from their trucks without installing aftermarket hardware. Daimler establishes group focused on developing connectivity solutions

As commercial vehicles and their associated systems go deeper into a connected world, the need to manage that overall connectivity in a thorough and cohesive way becomes more important.
