Coden, Ala,, based Master Boat Builders has delivered the Tortuga. The second of two ATB tugs built by the yard for Seaside LNG/Polaris New Energy, it will be paired with the 5,000 cubic meter LNG bunkering barge Clean Everglades, delivered last year by Fincantieri Bay shipbuilding.

Seaside LNG to start Galveston bunkering operation

Seaside LNG has reached a term bunkering agreement with Carnival Corporation & plc that will see it fuel the first LNG powered cruise ship to homeport in Galveston, Texas, the Carnival Jubilee.

Seaside LNG will move its bunkering barge Clean Jacksonville, acquired from TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico, LLC in February this year, from Jacksonville, Fla., to Galveston, where it will serve the Texas Gulf Coast makingits first LNG delivery to the Carnival Jubilee in December 2023.

FBS christens LNG bunkering barge Clean Everglades

Executives from Seaside LNG, Polaris New Energy and their guests gathered at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (FBS), Sturgeon Bay, Wis., this week to christen the recently constructed LNG bunkering barge Clean Everglades.

Fitted with four 1,375 cubic meter IMO Type C tanks, the 5,000 cubic meter ABS Ocean Class barge measures 340 feet long by 66 feet beam, with a depth of 32 feet 10 inches. It will utilize a cargo handling system designed and developed by Wärtsilä.

Clean Canaveral completes inaugural LNG bunkering

The largest Jones Act LNG bunker barge thus far delivered, the 5,500-cubic-meter Clean Canaveral, has completed its inaugural LNG bunkering in Jacksonville, Fla. The vessel operates with the recently delivered tug Polaris as an articulated tug barge (ATB) unit and is owned by Polaris New Energy LLC, a subsidiary of Seaside LNG Holdings.

The Clean Canaveral then transferred approximately 600 metric tons of LNG to cool-down and bunker the tanker Eagle Brasilia, owned by AET Tankers.
