Thai government to start national container shipping line

In order to promote maritime trade, the Transport Ministry of Thailand is going to establish a national shipping company, according to Bangkok Post’s report.

The deputy transport minister, Manaporn Charoensri, asked the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) to conduct a feasibility study for the cabinet to review. Next, the Ministry has to decide if the shipping company should be run as a state enterprise or under a public-private partnership model.

Thai partners confirm US$927 million upgrade project for Laem Chabang Port

GPC International Terminal Ltd. and the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) have signed a 35-year public-private partnership (PPP) contract to jointly develop and operate the Laem Chabang Port Phase III, Terminal F project in Chonburi province.

32 firms to bid for Laem Chabang port project

Thirty-two private firms will bid for the construction and operation of Phase 3 of the Laem Chabang port development project in eastern Thailand.
