Freight rates to start stabilise in mid-2022, said Aurelio Martínez, PAV President

Speaking at the Mediterranean Ports and Shipping 2021 conference, the president of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), Aurelio Martínez said that freight prices will normalise in the second half of 2022 when international demand for containers slow down.

“Higher freight rates mean higher costs and therefore fewer exports for regions like ours, which will mean that the growth rate will be lower than what we could have obtained in a normalised context,” claimed PAV president.

Valenciaport’s July box volumes exceed 450,000TEU

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has published its operational results for July, recording a slight increase in container volumes during the previous month, but a significant year-to-date growth.

Port of Valencia to boost rail sector with US$280 million investments

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has announced it will invest approximately €240 million (US$280 million) in the following years to improve accesses and railway infrastructures.
