B&M increases imports through the Port of Liverpool

B&M, one of the UK’s leading variety retailers, has announced it is increasing its cargo into the Port of Liverpool by 30 per cent following frustrations with delay-struck southern ports.

After completing a successful trial at the port, the company, which has 600 stores and employs over 28,000 staff across the UK, will now ship 80 per cent of its stock via Liverpool, increasing 30 per cent of the volume on a trial basis.

Strong year confirms Marseille Fos growth trend

Volumes last year in key areas of activity confirmed Marseille Fos as the leading French cargo and cruise port – a result matched by dynamic progress at its logistics and industrial sites.    

Total cargo throughput improved 1% on 2017 to 81 million tonnes.  Standout performances included a seventh consecutive year of growth in container traffic, which rose 2% for 1.4 million teu, and a 12% increase in dry bulks at 15.2MT.  Meanwhile cruise numbers leapt 15% to 1.7 million passengers.

Marseille Fos set to offer LNG bunkering

ABPmer undertakes Port Marine Safety Code Assurance Audit in the Shetland Isles

Shetland Islands Council, in its role as Harbour Authority, recently contracted ABPmer to carry out an assurance audit of its compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC).
