APM Terminals closes Danish box terminal acquisition deal

A.P. Møller Maersk’s APM Terminals has agreed with Aarhus Logistics Center (ALC) for the acquisition of ALC’s container terminal in the port of Aarhus. APM Terminals Aarhus will take over the operations as well as the port areas of ALC from 1 September 2020.

Port of Aarhus reports annual financial results

In the financial year 2018, Port of Aarhus realized a turnover of DKK 278 million, a profit of DKK 73 million and thus a profit margin of 26 per cent. During the period, DKK 110 million has been used for capital investments.

The revenue increase landed at DKK 7 million and the increase in the profit was DKK 1 million. Port of Aarhus’ management refers to this as a satisfactory result in a competitive market.

Heavy load ramp planned for port of Aarhus

In the future, more special transports with heavy goods – including wind turbine transports – will be able to find a way to the port of Aarhus. During the year 2019 a new heavy load ramp will be built from Marselis Boulevard and across Strandvejen, so that the ramp opens on Østhavnsvej.
