Arkas revises Greece-Black Sea service

Arkas/Emes Feedering has announced changes to its Greece–Black Sea (GBS) service, according to the latest DynaLiners report.

Notably, Bulgaria’s Port of Burgas will replace Turkey’s Port of Aliaga in the updated rotation.

The revised port sequence, served by two 1,500 TEU vessels, will now be: Piraeus (Greece) – Istanbul (Ambarli, Turkey) – Burgas (Bulgaria) – Varna (Bulgaria) – Izmit (Yarimca, Turkey) – Piraeus.

Turkish ports record 13.5 million TEUs in 2024

Turkish ports handled 13.5 million TEUs in 2024, representing an 8% increase over 2023 volumes.

Dynamar reports major differences between the ports, with the MSC hub at Tekirdag growing by 20% to 2 million TEUs, while nearby Ambarli lost 5% to dip to 3 million TEUs.

On the Mediterranean side, Aliaga port achieved a significant 34% growth, attracting a substantial amount of cargo from Izmir, which saw its volumes decline by 10%.
