The world’s 30 busiest container ports recorded a 7% growth in volumes in 2024, boosted by increased traffic from China, the United States and South Asia, according to Alphaliner.

Noordkasteel bridge out of service after barge collision in Antwerp

On 4 March, an inland barge coming out of the Fruit Terminal in Antwerp, Belgium collided with the Noordkasteel bridge, causing the bridge to remain in a closed position.
