Peel Ports-operated Port of Greenock has officially unveiled its new GB£25 million (US$33 million) ship-to-shore cranes.

Peel Ports Clydeport, which owns the UK port, welcomed guests to the port for a ceremony to celebrate the biggest-ever investment in Greenock’s container facilities.

Port of Greenock welcomes new US$32 million ship-to-shore cranes

The first of two new US$32 million ship-to-shore cranes arrived  at the Port of Greenock, marking a significant boost in productivity.

Port of Greenock boosts reefer cargo capabilities through major investment

United Kingdom’s Port of Greenock will increase its reefer points from 32 to 220 with a significant investment of £750,000 (around US$950,000).

Port of Greenock handles largest container ship in its history

On 7 October, the Port of Greenock, located on the Firth of Clyde, which has been at the centre of Scotland’s maritime sector since 1876, welcomed the 300m long MSC Magnum VII, which has a capacity of 6,750 TEUs.

The 75,000-tonne container vessel arrived via Peel Ports Clydeport’s sister facility at the Port of Liverpool, before departing for Bristol the following day. The stopover saw the Clydeport team load boxes of spirits, which were destined for Le Harve in France.

KC Liner Agencies commences first direct service from China to Scotland

KC Liner Agencies has announced the first direct east and westbound container service between China and Scotland.

The maiden voyage departed from Ningbo, China on 6 June and is expected to arrive directly at the port of Greenock in Scotland around the 10th of July.
