Wan Hai to spend almost US$253 million to refurbish Kaohsiung terminal

Taiwanese liner operator Wan Hai Lines will spend nearly US$253 million on refurbishing the No. 5 Terminal in Kaohsiung after taking over the facility from compatriot rival Evergreen Marine Corporation, which will shift its operations to the newly built No. 7 Terminal this year.

The No. 5 Terminal is home to berths 79 to 81, spanning a total wharf length of 870 metres.

CMA CGM extends lease at Kaohsiung terminal until 2040

The French shipping group CMA CGM has started its terminal operations at the Taiwanese port of Kaohsiung on 1 September, after its 20-year terminal lease extension agreement with Taiwan International Ports Corporation.

Evergreen and Kaohsiung Port pilot IoT solutions

Evergreen Marine Corporation is piloting the usage of Internet of Things (IoT) technology with Kaohsiung Port’s customs officials.

Both sides are aiming to see how IoT technology can ensure the safety of moving cargoes and monitor the entire process of point-to-point container movements in Taiwan’s busiest container port.
