Four new Konecranes electric RTGs to improve Koper port operations

Luka Koper in Slovenia’s Port of Koper has ordered four Konecranes electric Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes to replace old machines in its container yard. The order was booked in the third quarter of 2024, with hand-over scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 at the latest.

Koper also has plans to construct a new quayside and container yard with additional storage space.

Port of Koper commences container terminal expansion project with public procurement

Recently, the Port of Koper announced a major public procurement for one of its largest and most crucial upcoming projects.

The investment will include the construction of a container quay and additional storage space in the northern part of Pier 1. The deadline for tender submissions is 30 September 2024.

Port of Koper handles 256,240 TEUs in Q1

The Luka Koper Group’s performance in the first quarter of this year was primarily impacted by weak economic activity in the euro area and sluggish growth in the global economy.

New storage space for additional 3,500 cars at Port of Koper

The Port of Koper is introducing a new storage space for an additional 3,500 vehicles at the car terminal.
