MSC subsidiary TiL invests heavily in French container port

MSC’s terminal operating subsidiary, Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) has decided to invest US$706,4 million (€700 million) in the Port of Le Havre to strengthen the role of the French hub as the gateway to North-West Europe.

The investment, made by the sole shareholder of the TPO / TNMSC container terminals in Le Havre, will lead to the creation of 1,100 jobs over the next six years, according to a statement.

French box terminal operator orders more straddle carriers from Kalmar

The French terminal operator Terminaux de Normandie has made a repeat order of 12 diesel-electric straddle carriers to Kalmar.

The new equipment is expected to enhance operations of Terminal Normandie MSC & Terminal Porte Océane located at the Port of Le Havre. Both terminals are part of Terminal Investment Limited’s portfolio and are MSC’s and 2M Alliance’s main French gateway terminals with barge and rail intermodal connectivity to the European market.

Seafrigo consolidates its presence in Le Havre

The Seafrigo group is strengthening its presence in the Port of Le Havre area by setting up a facility located at the Seafrigo Logistics Park.

The logistics facility near Le Havre’s Red Bridge will comprise of two warehouses whose construction began last September. Each warehouse, designed for the storage of dry products, will cover an area of 30,000m2.

Port of Le Havre turns green with pollution control deals

Port of Le Havre has joined the “Getting to Zero” coalition which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from shipping by at least 50% by 2050, compared to 2008 levels.
