FreezPak Logistics to open cold storage facility in Miami

Cold chain solutions provider FreezPak Logistics announced plans to open a new location in Miami by the end of the year.

The 315,000-square-foot cold storage development will be on 20 acres and aims to serve the South Florida cold chain solutions market.

“We are planning to be in every major port, and the Miami site helps us achieve that goal,” Dave Saoud, co-CEO, said in a statement.

Five vessels diverted from Port of New Orleans

Container carriers weren’t taking any chances with what grew to a Category 4 hurricane, steering some vessels away from a Gulf Coast port expected to be hit by the powerful storm. 

Carrier schedules showed five of 13 services bypassed calls at the Port of New Orleans this week because of Hurricane Laura.

3.877 guests disembark cruise ship unscreened, after COVID-19 positive case

In light of the COVID-19 situation, US health authorities released all the guests onboard the MSC Meraviglia cruise ship, despite the positive coronavirus test of one passenger that had disembarked several days ago.

According to Miami Herald, 3.877 people were allowed to leave the cruise ship in Miami without passing the appropriate medical screening procedures or quarantine measures.
