Dockworkers strike fears at Port of Mobile amid record container volumes

A potential dockworker strike might launch at the Port of Mobile in Alabama, US as the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) Local 1410 and CSA Equipment Company, a stevedoring provider at the port, do not come to an agreement on workers’ payments.

Port of Mobile on track to surpass 500,000 TEU in 2022

The Alabama Port Authority has announced July 2022 was its busiest month ever for containerised cargo, breaking the 50,000 TEU mark for the first time since container port operations began in 2008.

In a year-over-year comparison, July’s figures reflect a growth rate of 184.7% for intermodal cargo and 35.8% for dry and reefer containers.

Regulators to conduct hearing on CP’s plan to merge with KCS

Port of Mobile reports increased TEU volumes in 2022 first half

Container volumes at the Port of Mobile in the United States have increased significantly during the first six months of the year.

The port’s most impressive growth is noticed in its intermodal container transfer facility (ICTF), with an increase of 118.6% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, in the first half of 2022, dry and refrigerated cargo shipments grew by 8.7% and 25%, respectively.

The Alabama Port Authority has announced a 39.7% increase in the Port of Mobile container volumes in April, with the port’s container intermodal transfer facility growing by 112.6% year-on-year in the previous month.
